About Us

Our Mission

We put new ideas to work by using proven products and quality materials. Our professional engineers have over 50 years of collective experience in the design of structural/mechanical components, assemblies, and systems. We focus on cost efficiency, innovation, quality, and safety.

Our Story

In 1996, Theodore C. Vora, P.E. decided he wanted to use his oilfield engineering knowledge to build a unique drilling rig that focused on a balance of speed and safety. He started Veristic in his house, with just one other employee. From such simple beginnings Veristic is now a 16 person company that has over 50 drilling structures working in the field today.

Our customers come back to us time and time again because…
  • We address and respond to their requirements 100%
  • We deliver results on time
  • We earn and keep their trust

Our Team

Aaron Chang, PE

(Chief Operating Officer)

He is one of Veristic’s longest tenured engineers. He helped develop the earliest versions of the Rocket Rig.  A University of Houston grad, Aaron enjoys almost every genre of music.  He also has a self-proclaimed obsession with buying headphones. He also loves the challenge of educating his wife Elaine on classic movies.

Amanda Nelson McMordie, PE

(Project Engineer)

Amanda’s favorite part of engineering is going out in the field for inspections. She’s a third generation Longhorn who earned her B.S. in Civil Engineering.  She loves gardening, yoga, and cheering for her San Antonio Spurs.  Amanda and her husband have two dogs; Oliver and Mia.

Bojan Babić, PE

(Project Engineer)

Bojan (pronounced Boy-Yawn) was one of the lead designers of the E-Series Rocket Rig.  A native of Yugoslavia, Bojan is one of Veristic’s many UT graduates.  After work on Wednesdays he heads up his bar trivia team.  He also enjoys challenging his wife Jessica to the N.Y. Times crossword, although she usually wins.

Brian Cunningham, PE

(Chief Engineer)

Brian is your go to guy for hydraulics and all things mobile.  He is a UT grad who enjoys digging into new designs and developing new concepts for the future of Veristic.  When off the clock, he’s gathering random knowledge and teaching his sons to follow in his engineering footsteps.

Călin Canahai

(Project Engineer)

A man of many cultures, this Romanian from South Africa graduated from Texas A&M.  He earned his B.S. in Aerospace Engineering.  Calin’s favorite part of engineering is working up new designs in Inventor.  Calin also helps write back end software for the Operations Team.  Calin never misses a day hitting the weights but really hates cardio work.

Charles C. Vora, PE

Charles joined Veristic in 2002 after graduating from The University of Texas.  Building on the foundation his father laid, Charles has grown Veristic into what it is today.  In his free time, he enjoys photography and rock climbing.  He and his wife Quynh have three little future Veristic employees, Liem, Han and Aang.

Diana Duong

(VP Administration)

Being on the Veristic team since the beginning, Diana now oversees HR, benefits, and insurance.  She is a proud Houston Cougar, graduating with her B.S. in Psychology (year not to be named).   When she’s not looking handling HR and payroll, she enjoys crocheting.  Diana is proud of her collection of over 150 mini perfume bottles.

Eddie Swedlund

(Operations Supervisor)

Eddie is a member of our operations team who helps oversees project status. Eddie is a UT Aerospace Engineering graduate.  When he has a free moment, Eddie enjoys showcasing his turnaround jumper, caring for his kitten Dr. Richard Kimble, and pondering the return of Peter Cetera to Chicago.

James Nimri

(Quality Manager)

He is the man that makes sure your equipment is built to API and ISO standards.  James graduated from Grinnell College with his bachelors in Physics.  Aside from being self-taught in Visual Basic, James can play you a tune on the sax or clarinet and plays a mean game of chess.

My Thi Bednarczyk

(Project Engineer)

My graduated from the University of Texas at Austin in Civil Engineering with an emphasis in structures.  During the winter months, My enjoys racing down the slopes in Colorado on her snowboard.  In warmer weather, her passions are cycling and decorating her new home. She and her husband Alex have a beautiful daughter named Emma.

Oscar Lopez, II

(Design Engineer)

Oscar joined Veristic in 2017.  Born in Laredo, Oscar earned his degree in Mechanical Engineering. At UT, Oscar was the president of their SAE chapter as well as a member of the Longhorn Racing team. No, they did not race longhorns: they built race cars.  When he’s not enjoying Houston hot spots with his wife Carolina, he enjoys bow hunting or watching UT sports.

Pracha Vora

(Design Engineer)

Pracha has come back to Veristic after working for various companies over the past 16 years.  Pracha earned his Masters in Civil Engineering from the University of Houston in 1997.  Shortly after that he spent 2 years with Veristic.  Pracha is married and has a daughter in high school. He is proud of his mean tennis backhand and takes any chance he can get to hit the ski slopes in winter.

Sira “Steve” Suwannakinthorn

(Purchasing Manager)

You can call Steve the Man of Steel.  He buys the necessary material to get your project off the ground.  Steve graduated from the University of Houston with a degree in Computer Information Systems.  A native of Thailand, Steve knows all the best spots to eat in Houston’s Chinatown.

Theo Vora

(Chief Financial Officer)

He’s a connoisseur of all things electronic, especially Apple products. On top of managing the finances, Theo keeps all the technology within Veristic running smoothly so your projects get done accurately and on time. In his spare time he enjoys walking with his rescue dog Teek.

Tom Echols

(Operations Supervisor)

Tom joined Veristic’s operations team in 2018. He holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering from Texas A&M.  Tom oversees Veristic’s API 4F, 8C, and Q1 licenses. If you know what’s good for you, do not challenge Tom to a game of Settlers of Catan.  Tom is most proud of his diverse work history, which includes driving buses at A&M and packaging cars for UPS. He also competes in pistol shooting.

Tony Richmond

(Design Engineer)

A proud University of Houston Cougar, Tony joined Veristic in 2017.  Born and raised in San Antonio, earned his degree in Mechanical Engineering. His favorite part of engineering is the problem solving. After reading this bio you can officially say you now know a “shrimp enthusiast”. Tony will proudly show off his 6 aquariums. When he’s not shrimping or solving problems, Tony hangs out with his girlfriend Brina.
